Prof. Jizhong Zhu

IEEE FELLOW, IET FELLOW

Prof. Jizhong Zhu is a Fellow of the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a Fellow of the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering, a Fellow of the National Institute of Engineering and Technology, a visiting Fellow of the Royal Society of Britain, an innovation leader in Guangzhou, and a professor and doctoral supervisor at South China University of Technology. He also serves as an adjunct professor and doctoral supervisor at Chongqing University. Additionally, he holds the position of Chairman of the IEEE PES Intelligent Building, Load and Customer System Technical Committee (China), an editorial board member of MPCE and other international journals, and chairs the IEEE P2781 Load Modeling and Simulation International Standard Working Group as well as the IEEE P2783 Fast Load Response System International Standard Working Group. He is also a member of the IEEE SMC Standards Committee, the IEEE SMC Smart Power and Energy Systems Committee, the Sino-Swiss Smart Grid Technical Expert Committee, and the national Power Demand side management Standards Expert Committee. Furthermore, Prof. Zhu has served as a member of the first National Innovation Award evaluation expert Committee, and various national, provincial, and municipal talents and project evaluation expert panels. He has also held positions such as Chairman of the IEEE power load sub-committee and Chairman of the IEEE SBLC Asia Pacific working Group.

Prof. Maria Pia Fanti

IEEE FELLOW

 Polytechnic of Bari, Italy

Maria Pia Fanti is a full professor of System and Control Engineering at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering of the Polytechnic of Bari in Italy. She obtained her Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1983. In 1999, she served as a visiting researcher at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Since 1983, she has been affiliated with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the Polytechnic of Bari, where she held the position of Assistant Professor from 1990 to 1998 and Associate Professor from 1998 to April 2012. Maria Pia Fanti is recognized as an IEEE fellow for her contributions to the modeling and control of discrete event systems. Her research interests span a range of topics including discrete event systems, Petri nets, consensus algorithms, networked and control systems, management and modeling of logistic systems, automated manufacturing systems, automatic guided vehicle systems, traffic networks, and healthcare systems. Maria Pia Fanti is the author of two books and over 280 papers, including 85 journal articles, 11 book chapters, and numerous conference proceedings papers.

Prof. Pierluigi Siano

IEEE Senior Member

University of Salerno, Italy

Pierluigi Siano is a full professor of Electrical Energy Engineering with the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Salerno, the Chair of the Technical Committee on Smart Grids and a member of the Technical Committee on Renewable Energy Systems of the IEEE IES. Since 2019, he has been recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher by the ISI Web of Science Group. Based on a study conducted by researchers at Stanford University, he has been included in the ranking of 100,000 international scientists from various disciplinary fields who have demonstrated significant scientific impact. This investigation utilized the SCOPUS database, which compiles a list of scholars worldwide classified by their scientific output. The researchers developed a composite indicator that takes into account various bibliometric parameters, such as the h-index, number of publications, citations, journal relevance, sector relevance, and others, to generate a comprehensive ranking emphasizing the scientific relevance of scientists over the past 23 years.

Pierluigi Siano's research activities primarily focus on demand response, the integration of distributed energy resources into smart grids, and the planning and management of power systems. He has co-authored over 450 papers, including more than 200 international journal articles that have received over 7,600 citations, resulting in an H-index of 68.

Prof. Qinmin Yang

Qinmin Yang obtained his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Civil Aviation University of China in Tianjin, China, in 2001. He subsequently earned his Master of Science Degree in Control Science and Engineering from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, located in Beijing, China, in 2004. Furthermore, he completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla, MO, USA, in 2007. 

Between 2007 and 2008, he served as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the University of Missouri-Rolla. From 2008 to 2009, he worked as a system engineer with Caterpillar Inc. Following that, he held another Post-doctoral Research Associate position at the University of Connecticut from 2009 to 2010. 

Since 2010, Dr. Yang has been affiliated with the State Key Laboratory of Industrial Control Technology, College of Control Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University, China, where he currently holds the rank of professor. Additionally, he has held visiting positions at the University of Toronto and Lehigh University.

Prof. Hassan Haes Alhelou

Dr. Hassan Haes Alhelou is a Senior Member of the IEEE and currently affiliated with the Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering at Monash University in Clayton, VIC 3800, Australia. Prior to his current position, he was associated with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University College Dublin (UCD) in Dublin 4, Ireland, from 2020 to 2021. He has also held positions at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman and Isfahan University of Technology in Iran. Additionally, he served as a faculty member at Tishreen University in Syria.

In 2022, Dr. Alhelou was recognized as belonging to the Top 2% of scientists worldwide by the Stanford University database. He has also been included in the 2018 and 2019 Publons and Web of Science (WoS) lists of the top 1% of best reviewers and researchers in engineering and cross-fields globally. He has received the Outstanding Reviewer Award from various journals, including Energy Conversion and Management (ECM), ISA Transactions, and Applied Energy.

In 2011, Dr. Alhelou was awarded the Best Young Researcher distinction at the Arab Student Forum Creative, where he was selected among 61 researchers from 16 countries at Alexandria University in Egypt. He has also been honored with the Excellent Paper Award 2021/2022 from the IEEE CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems, which has an SCI Impact Factor of 3.938 and is ranked in the Q1 category.

Dr. Alhelou regularly contributes to top-tier journals, and his research papers have received over 4500 citations, with an H-index of 36 and an i10-index of 100. He has authored or edited seven books published by renowned publishers such as Springer, IET, Wiley, Elsevier, and Taylor & Francis.

He serves as an editor for several prestigious journals, including the IEEE Systems Journal, Computers and Electrical Engineering (published by Elsevier), IET Journal of Engineering, and Smart Cities. Additionally, he has conducted over 800 reviews for highly respected journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, Energy Conversion and Management, Applied Energy, and the International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems.

Prof. Xiao Wu

Xiao Wu, PhD, is currently an Associate Professor and PhD Supervisor at the School of Information, Southwest Jiaotong University. He serves as the Assistant Dean of the School and the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Technology. He is also the recipient of the Sichuan Outstanding Youth Fund and a candidate for the Academic and Technical Leader of Sichuan Province. Additionally, Dr. Wu served as the Vice President of the CCF YOCSEF Chengdu Branch from 2014 to 2016. He is a member of the IEEE, ACM, and CCF, as well as a member of the Multimedia Committee of the China Computer Society and the Multimedia Committee of the China Graphic and Image Society.

Dr. Wu obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the City University of Hong Kong in 2008. Prior to that, he worked as an Assistant Research Fellow and later a Senior Associate Research Fellow at the university. During 2006-2007, he was a visiting scholar at Carnegie Mellon University, a top-ranked institution in computing in the United States. Furthermore, he visited the University of California, Irvine, serving as a Visiting Associate Professor from 2015 to 2016.

Dr. Wu's research interests encompass multimedia information retrieval, multimedia big data analysis, image/video processing, and data mining. His work has been published in leading international journals such as IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems, and IEEE Signal Processing Magazine. Additionally, he has contributed to top international conferences like ACM Multimedia, with numerous high-level research papers, more than 20 of which have been indexed by SCI and over 40 by EI. Notably, IEEE Signal Processing Magazine had an impact factor of 6.0 in 2011 and has consistently ranked among the top journals in computer and electronic engineering disciplines.

The research results achieved by the project leader have garnered recognition from international peer experts, and his papers have been frequently cited by high-level publications. With over 1,000 citations on Google Scholar, the highest citation count for a single paper stands at 243. Notably, his paper on approximate video detection serves as a reference for network video search and approximate network analysis, highlighting its significant contribution to the field.

Prof. Yifei Pu

Yi-Fei Pu received the Ph.D. degree from the College of Electronics and Information Engineering, Sichuan University, in 2006. He is currently a Full Professor and the Doctoral Supervisor with the College of Computer Science, Sichuan University, and the Chief Technology Officer with Chengdu PU Chip Science and Technology Co., Ltd. He is elected into the Thousand Talents Program of Sichuan Province as the Academic and Technical Leader of Sichuan Province. He focuses on the application of fractional calculus tothe latest signal processing,such as thefractional-order image processing,thefractional-order machine intelligence and thefractional-order circuits and systems. He has authored with the first author’s identity about30 papers indexed by SCI in journals such as IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems, IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Magazine, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica, IEEE Intelligent Systems, IEEE Design & Test, International Journal of Neural Systems, Swarm and Evolutionary Computation, and Science China Information Sciences.
